Chicken Chow Mein

I use this recipe all the time and I can testify to how easy it is to make and how delicious it is to eat. These days I want simple and tasty so I am always scouring the internet for recipes that suits those needs. I don’t own a cookbook at all, I find that Uncle Google gets me the best recipes that there are available.

Posting links to the recipes I have used also gives me the opportunity to share other peoples websites which means more traffic for them, it’s a win win!

Cinnamon Scrolls

So over the course of the last month I have been on a pretty hectic diet. Menopause has put weight on me I am not loving and it’s time it comes off and not only that my health could do with a bit of an overhaul! So, I have been taking shakes, superfoods and pretty much little else! The detox process was hard and I didn’t actually get over it, the headaches were relentless and the hunger pains were like labor pains. All in all it was pretty crap! For the past 5 days I have gone back to my normal eating, but less of it, and more mindful of the amount of sugar we are eating. I will get back to my diet next week, but I will tweak it a bit, because I cannot do those detox headaches. I am going to do most of our food from scratch, instead of instant packet stuff we usually grab. But for today I felt like trying these cinnamon scrolls, I have never made them before, and apart from leaving the cling wrap on them while they cooked *rolls eyes, another menopause moment, they are pretty good!

Having Trouble Sleeping?…Try This..

So I am a really bad sleeper, have been for probably close on 30 years after my 3rd child was born, she literally didn’t sleep until she went to school, up at least 3 times a night and that’s how life went back then. Of course I didn’t know what I was doing back then so her not sleeping was just a normal part of life. However, it caused me to get into the habit of not sleeping and I have been tired and grumpy ever since LOL! Knowing that little bit of my lack of sleep history you will understand why menopause sleep disruptions aren’t really a problem for me but as I get older I am getting Lot more tired and frustrated that I just can’t go to bed and wake up the net morning.

Homemade granola!

So I decided to try my hand at handmade muesli this weekend. I was intending to do it on Monday and go Live into Facebook but of course I forgot about that and made it this morning! The other thing I didn’t do was take photos of the process….I suck at this blogging thing! Anyway it worked out really well and tastes pretty good and I am really happy with the outcome. If found this recipe online, which is where I find all my recipes lol! As follows;

Animal Crossing

So I was very spoilt this year for my birthday and among other things my daughters pitched in and got me a Nintendo Switch Lite!!! So stoked with it and my eldest son bought me the Animal Crossing Game. I am not sure I understand what to do with this game yet as I have only just started playing it but I am sure I will pick it up. At this stage I am building a campsite and picking up sticks for the campfire and a raccoon I think it is is giving the directions. You have to talk to other animals along the way as well. This is a multi player online game and I am going to connect with my daughter so she can tell me what to do! Another game that will connect you to your kids and grandkids!

Stop Bagging Out MLM…

So it seems that everywhere I look on social media someone is bagging out someone. Everyone is an expert on every single thing and it annoys me. Today I am taking aim at those who bag out, degrade, belittle and basically talk crap about MLM companies and those who are a part of them. Apparently people who are in MLM companies are brainwashed, brain dead, money hungry, unqualified morons who use products that are over inflated in price and try to ‘peddle’ their wares on to unsuspecting others promising millions of dollars in return! Now while there is a bit of truth to that, NOT ALL people who are in an MLM are like that!! I am in 2 mlms, I am far from brainwashed as I will tell people what works and doesn’t work, I will also tell people to see a doctor where necessary, I share MY experiences and you can listen or not, if not, it’s no big deal. The products ARE usually superior, I have tried at least 15 other companies and none of them compare. I get it though, these days money is tight and people are on a budget so they use non MLM companies, but they don’t need to be running around telling everyone that the MLM companies are bad and so are their products and that’s why they changed. Usually it’s a money issue or they will be people who couldn’t get the business side happening for them.

Dusted for Another Year!

Well it has been a hectic 2 weeks leading up to Christmas but it was worth it for the kids and I am glad it’s over. Christmas is a big deal in our family, especially with 7 grandchildren and of course I am the one who gets to put on Christmas every year, yayyyy NOT. As I get older I find I am getting less bothered but I push myself to give the family a nice Christmas. Old Grinchma (me) came to visit but I had to kick her butt to the curb so I could keep going lol!

Re-Connecting Families Through ‘Gaming’

‘Gaming’ aka playing video games has become one of the largest industries in the world with revenue sitting at $159billion USD and projected revenue to be well over $200billion USD in the next couple of years. That’s some big numbers for playing games but the fact is that there is more to ‘gaming’ than a heap of teenagers sitting in dark rooms swearing and screaming at a computer screen. It has become an integral part of communication and community, to those who are either on their own, with no family, or who have mental health issues that prevent them from mixing with their peers (autism, anxiety etc). Instead of frowning upon these kids and young adults we could be learning from them. Learning how they build fellowship with like minded individuals, regardless of what race or creed they are, if they play games, then they are cool!

Gaming Over 50…..

I remember when I was a child flogging money from my parents and going to the local milk bar every afternoon to play pinball and space invaders. It was my happy place, something I was really good at and something I loved doing. In those days it wasn’t really that ladylike for girls to play the games but I didn’t care I loved it so much. My reputation was “the pinball wizard” because I could beat everyone and would rack up that many free games that most days I only needed enough money to start a game the rest I earned for free.

My View Today….

As some of you may be aware my youngest daughter has Crohns Disease, a debilitating auto immune disease that attacks the bowel. Since having Crohns she has also developed psoriasis and chronic sinusitis more auto immune diseases. To say life is a bit tough for her is an understatement. She has 3 children and luckily a very supportive husband who does whatever it takes to help make life a bit easier for her.

So today is infusion day. Every 6 weeks we have to drive an hour away to the hospital where her specialist team is. She is one of the worst cases they have seen so she is pretty famous amongst these doctors. She was given misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis at our local hospital for a year until she almost died and was sent by ambulance to a better hospital. I believe God intervened there and got her the help she so desperately needed.
